Plasma flow vs. magnetic feature-tracking speeds in the Sun
نویسندگان
چکیده
We simulate the magnetic feature tracking (MFT) speed using axisymmetric advectivediffusive transport models in both one and two dimensions. By depositing magnetic bipolar regions at different latitudes at the Sun’s surface and following their evolution for a prescribed meridional circulation and magnetic diffusivity profiles, we derive the MFT speed as a function of latitude. We find that in a one dimensional surface-transport model the simulated MFT speed at the surface is always the same as the meridional flow-speed used as input to the model, but is different in a two-dimensional transport model in the meridional (r, θ) plane. The difference depends on the value of the magnetic diffusivity and on the radial gradient of the latitudinal velocity. We have confirmed our results with two different codes in spherical and Cartesian coordinates.

متن کاملPERFORMANCE MODEL AND ANALYSIS OF BLOOD FLOW IN SMALL VESSELS WITH MAGNETIC EFFECTS
In this paper consider a two-fluid model consisting of a core region of suspension of all the erythrocytes (particles) in plasma (fluid) assumed to be a particle-fluid mixture and a peripheral layer of cell-free plasma (Newtonian fluid), has been proposed to represent blood flow in small diameter tubes with effects of magnetic. The analytical results obtained in the proposed model for effective...
متن کاملDetection of Supersonic Horizontal Flows in the Solar Granulation
Hydrodynamic simulations of granular convection predict the existence of supersonic flows covering∼3-4% of the solar surface at any time, but these flows have not been detected unambigously as yet. Using data from the spectropolarimeter aboard the Hinode satellite, I present direct evidence of fast horizontal plasma motions in quiet Sun granules. Their visibility increases toward the limb due t...
متن کاملLarge-scale horizontal flows in the solar photosphere IV. On the vertical structure of large-scale horizontal flows
In the recent papers, we introduced a method utilised to measure the flow field. The method is based on the tracking of supergranular structures. We did not precisely know, whether its results represent the flow field in the photosphere or in some sub-photospheric layers. In this paper, in combination with helioseismic data, we are able to estimate the depths in the solar convection envelope, w...

Magneto hydrodynamic waves, propagating along spicules, may become unstable and the expected instability is of Kelvin-Helmholtz type. Such instability can trigger the onset of wave turbulence leading to an effective plasma heating and particle acceleration. In present study, two-dimensional magneto hydrodynamic simulations performed on a Cartesian grid is presented in spicules with different de...
